John currently serves as the Care Pastor for Christian Life Fellowship, Calera, AL. and is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (#940) and a Board Certified Master Mental Health Coach (#066) through the International Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors (IBCC), which is an affiliate of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). John has been ordained with the Assemblies of God since June, 1977.
He has served three churches as senior pastor (Ferriday, LA; Springfield, MO; Americus, GA) and was also an active duty U.S. Navy Chaplain from 1981-1989. He began his career as a Chaplain with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in August, 1991 and retired as a Supervisory Chaplain in August 2011. Since retiring he has served as a volunteer Law Enforcement Chaplain with the Shelby County (AL) Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Secret Service."
